Development is on a bit of standby at the moment due to work commitments and other projects. I'll try to push out a final 1.0 release for the end of the year, but don't expect much I'm afraid.

Truth be told, TaskStep was my first project and very much a test system. There are a lot of systems out there: web-based such as Remember the Milk, or on a Mac such as OmniFocus. Thanks very much though - I'm glad somebody found it useful!

Please tell me this is still in development! :) I can't figure out why more people aren't using this. Or maybe they are, but they're not in the forum.

I love the simplicity and clean layout. GTD tends to be way too complicated for me, and just another obstacle to actually getting things done.

Right. Sorry it took so long, but just to let you know the merge is done and the code has been amended. The new version is now available via the svn, and I hope to start preparing the non-code side of things (package, re-written help section etc.) fairly soon, possibly today.

Thanks very much for your changes. I have included the Russian language file in the updated code as well as a Spanish translation by Opikanoba and Campanilla.

They're mostly code-tidying changes, removing unnecessary bits'n'pieces (repetitions of the config.php includes for example). Although the alpha available on this site is very up-to-date, the svn contains the very latest changes. Generally speaking, as soon as I finish a session of changing the code I will commit it to the svn.

Thanks very much! I'll start comparing and merging changes (rather than replacing the archive outright, there have been a few changes to the code since the alpha release, and if you can't access the svn then you probably won't have them).

Well, now, the archive can be accessed by clicking the link http://pwstech.ru/taskstep.ru.edition.zip

Dear Admin! I recommend you to test it, and, if you find it satisfactory, replace your archive with this one.

I'm preparing an archive that will contain modified by me files. Unfortunately, i don't have an svn client on my pc here to commit changes.
Changes list
- added russian file ru.php
- in this file added two lines - with vars $l_forms_titledefval and $l_msg_updateassoctasks
- modified files edit_contexts.php, add.php and edit_projects.php, replacing in them original english messages with russian text grabbed from vars

Thanks very much for the positive comments! I'm going to try and do a bit more on TaskStep over the next few days - mostly tidying. If people have other suggestions for features please let me know! I'm afraid the old translation files are lost for a start so if someone can put those back on here that would be very handy.

Quite a lot was lost when the old site went down, which is one of the problems with such a rapid change-over. Hopefully people still have copies lying around...

Hi,

I just came accross this site by accident, but let me tell you one thing: The taskstep project is simply amazing!
I'm surprised there aren't too many people using this forum yet and I'm sure it has to do with the fact that 1- you have not promoted your site well enough 2- the first version was released very recently.
There's a growing demand for the type of software that you are developing.
Personally, I'd like to see the project being developed to allow things like:

- Several users mode, a bit like a forum really, but using the GTD concept and the graphics. This way several people can participate in team projects.

Anyway, keep up your excellent work and I hope you released more versions soon. ;)

Same old drivel I'm afraid, but needs to be said. General rule is nothing offensive or which others might find offensive, nothing dodgy, nothing illegal.

If you're unsure, then first rule is would you say it loudly in the middle of the street. If you're still unsure, then ask me or just don't post it to be on the safe side.
